Meet Your PT Instructor: Nirja Parikh

Namaste! Nirja Parikh is a licensed doctorate in Physical Therapy, a Registered Yoga Teacher for adults and children with special needs, an Ayurvedic life consultant, and a former Dancer/Dance teacher.

Nirja grew up in North Carolina and with most of her life being consumed by dance performances, ballet recitals, and shows. She started dancing under the guidance and care of her first dance teacher, her mom.

After reaching the age of 12, Nirja started Bharatanatyam and Ballet. She was a soloist in the annual Nutcracker ballet recital and completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram at age 16.

Nirja followed her passion for dance and took a year off to go to India to follow her instinct. After Nirja underwent Scoliosis Correction Surgery, Nirja had to learn to move in a different way than her body was used to. Yoga came into her life. Yoga taught Nirja how to move again, how to be confident, and how to be stronger. Now as a physical therapist and yoga instructor, Nirja aims to teach correct mechanics for people of all ages and sizes. Being of a medical background, Nirja is able to modify and provide insight into various body ailments such as low back pain, posture, sciatica, etc. Nirja is very passionate about teaching yoga and can not wait to teach on this platform.
